National Dog Mom Day
All mom’s deserve recognition, even those of us with children who have a bit more fur than others. In fact, celebrating our love for our pets has resulted in its own holiday. Happy national dog moms day. We love that this has become its own holiday rather than one shared with Mother’s day.
Everyone gets to be celebrated!
No one can say that just because you have to clean up your dogs puke or accidents doesn’t make you a real mom…side eye…
You can celebrate in your own way while still spending mothers day with the more traditional mothers in your life.
How to Celebrate This Year
Every year on the second Saturday of May we celebrate Dog Mom Day. This holiday was officially added to the national holidays in 2018 after Dig - The Dog Persons Dating App submitted it for review and the response was huge. Dog moms wanted their day in the spotlight too. So how should you celebrate Dog Mom Day?
We say, treat it like any other holiday. There aren’t any set celebrations or traditions so create your day the way you want it to be.
Go for a hike with your pup. Getting outside is great for you and them.
Take a day to just relax even if that means without your dog. You put your dog first every day of the year maybe Dog Mom’s Day is your day off. Take your dog to a doggy day care or a trusted loved ones, and treat yourself to a day of relaxation.
Create a community event (big or small). Set up a get together of dog moms; get drinks at a dog friendly restaurant or check out a local hike or park
Snuggle up and watch a good dog movie, make some popcorn and your dogs favorite treat.
How you celebrate is up to you but be sure to share what you do using the #dogmomday so we spread the word that all moms deserve a day.
High five for a day well spent!
